Akhlaq Ahmad was the
third generation of top male playback singers in Pakistani Urdu
films. He was a member of a famous stage singer group in Karachi in
the beginning of the 60s - other two were Masood Rana and Nadeem. He
struggled many years but shined in the 70s as playback singer and
sung few super hit songs in Urdu films only. Sona na Chandi na koi
Mehal in film Bandish (1980) and Sawan Aye Sawan jaye in Chahat
(1974) are his most super hit songs. His song tally is under hundred
songs.
Unfortunately, he suffered with a deadly disease of blood cancer and
died on October 8, 1999 at London.
