Bipasha Basu
Bipasha Basu (born May 5, 1979) is an Indian actress and former fashion model. She appears in Bollywood films and now lives in Mumbai. She is often regarded as a sex symbol. She is 5'8" tall and dusky in appearance.
Biography
Bipasha is the second of three daughters in her family, she is Hindu. She was raised in Kolkata and studied for a business degree.
Bipasha won the Indian divison of the Ford Supermodel of the World contest at the age of seventeen; she was also named Tulips Miss Super Vivacious. Many modeling jobs followed.
From modeling to films is a common step in today's Indian movie industry. Bipasha's debut movie was Ajnabee (2001). The movie was fairly successful and
Bipasha was quickly signed for more movies. She attracted a lot of attention with her roles in Raaz (2002) and Jism (2003). Jism was unusually explicit for Bollywood films.
She has also appeared in music videos, such as the famous Tu... for Sonu Nigam’s album, Kismat and in Jay Sean's Stolen She is 5'8 in height
Bipasha has recently relocated her whole family to Mumbai. Her father, who has lived in Kolkata for much of her acting career (for business reasons), is rejoining his family; so is her eldest sister, who currently resides in Bangalore.
Bipasha is in the process of opening a retail boutique in Mumbai; the shop is in the prestigious Juhu area and her shop space cost an estimated 2 crore (20,000,000) rupees to purchase.

A supposedly Bipasha-written blog at Rediff.com [3] gives the date as January 7, 1979. So does Filmfare magazine, usually regarded as a reputable source.
A number of fan sites state that her birthday is January 1 and do not give a year.
One website, Kareina.com [4], gives the date as January 7, 1974 and the birthplace as Mumbai.
She was recently in the news for being physically molested and abused at the India Day Parade in Edison, New Jersey. [5]
